Book: Maybe Not

Author: Colleen Hoover

I loved loved loved this book… This was such a great, fun surprise.
Of course Colleen Hoover writes a book like no ones business.

I loved this look into Warren and Bridgette’s, corky, at times mean, funny, heart bending relationship. Warren such a hoot, but dang he has such a softy side. Who knew there was such a loving heart under that big prankster.

When Warren says stuff like:

“The only difference between falling and being in love is that your heart already knows how you feel, but your mind is too stubborn to admit it.” SWOON …I heart Warren..

Bridgette, Bridgette, Bridgette..She still is a B**ch.. But you know what I finally get it and being to see that side of here and find out what causes her to be like that was refreshing..

Great story, great book to go along with Maybe, Someday…Loved seeing more into a story. This book was AMAZING as usual:)

Book: The Years Between (Jessie & Will Sisters Series 1.5)

By: Leanne Davis

5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Years Between starts where The Other Sister leaves off and showcases the budding, fledgling relationship and unwavering love between Will and Jessie.

The Other Sister was a very emotional read for me but in the end, the journey I took with Will and Jessie was incredible and unforgettable. This book was just what I needed to complete the picture. For the majority of The Other Sister Will and Jessie are not a couple, and are not dealing with issues that most couples encounter. Though they come to love each other, need each other and have a mutual respect for one another, neither knows how to be in a romantic relationship, especially one that starts so tragically.

This book begins that journey for them. One of self discovery and learning to be happy and be a couple. It’s still emotional and dramatic but also very warm and tender.

Jessie really does grow into a very bright, mature, responsible and caring woman. She learns to cope with her past while forging ahead and learning how to be a wife, friend and productive member of society.

Will is still so very strong and selfless but he too has to learn to fight his demons and become a better husband. We see a very different side of Will in this book and he become more human.

The growth, the change, the love, the communication, the understanding – all just make this book so much more and another wonderful experience.

Thank you Leanne Davis for your amazing and heartfelt writing. I am immensely enjoying myself.

10 plus stars
This has to be one of my favorite books I have read this year..This has got to be the most heartbreaking. Heartwarming, slap you in your face book….

This story was so incredibly beautiful, I can’t not even begin to describe what a honor it was to read this.

Wes and Kiersten are the most enduring, selfless, heartwarming characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading…I know they were fictional but I fell like a better person because of them.

I love love loved this book..warning you will need tissues;)

“I was the little girl who loved you from afar. I was the woman who gave herself away for you and ended up losing a lot of who she was.”

“Then allow me to give back some of what I stole.”

After being dumped by her fiancé, Eleanor Carrington flees to Paris to help her self-medicated mother. While keeping her mom from popping pills like gummy bears, Eleanor launches a new, no-strings-attached life plan with absolutely NO falling in love whatsoever. On her part at least, because her self-esteem could do with one or two Frenchmen going un peu crazy for her.

What she doesn’t need is for her first Grand Amour, Zachary Murdoch, to burst back into her life. Whatever shit-show she’s just been through was a stroll. What Zach put her though was a climb up Mount Everest. Barefoot. In a bikini.

Now a club-owner in Paris, Zach is intrigued by the troubled woman who was once the sweet girl he had to give up. Offering a shoulder for her to cry on is what he owes her. Loving her is what he lost the right to. Because there’s a reason he broke up with Lenor and that reason is why she’s in Paris.

But Paris is known as the City of Love…

Will he be her turn at love?

Marion loves to share happy vibes, talk book crush, fictional boyfriends and sexual chemistry with like-minded people. Red & Wolfe (Part One)

When Sarah “Red” Ryder loses her job as an art critic for a Boston newspaper, she’s brokenhearted. Worse than that? She’s broke. Her boyfriend recently left her – for a tatted-up hottie with a dick – so she’s stuck paying her hefty apartment rent alone. After two months unemployed, there’s no money left. With no immediate family to turn to, Red reaches out to her estranged grandmother, a reclusive writer living on an island off the coast of Charleston. Several days later, Red receives $30,000 and an invitation to visit.

James Wolfe is not Red’s grandmother. But he beckons her. Red has the ability to give him something he needs. He won’t take “no” for an answer, and he doesn’t mind screwing her over. He lost his conscience six years ago, when he was tried for the murder of his wife. Since then, life is about him – and the paintings he does under the mysterious pseudonym “W.”

Wolfe needs the island to keep painting. To live his life away from prying eyes. To keep up the anonymity of “W.”

Once he sees Red, he finds that he needs her, too. And Wolfe will have her. Any way he can.

Red & wolfe teaser

“Red?” I push her gown down a little further and close my mouth over her breast, working her nipple with my lips. Caressing it with my tongue. I’m rewarded by a soft moan that goes straight to my cock. I need to be inside her, despite knowing I don’t have the time.

I pull the covers down and slide my hand up her shin, then up her thigh. She’s warm from sleep. Her skin feels like burnished velvet. My fingers brush her pussy and she lifts her hips. She wants it. I love the way she always wants it.

I love the way she says my name: a mew.

“I’m going to fuck you with my fingers,” I say, leaning near her face. “Then you’ll go to sleep again.”

A dreamy smile floats over her lips. She nods a little, pressing her head into the pillow.

I slide a finger into her. She’s hot and tight, softer than silk. I can feel her clench as I pump into her. She’s wet this morning. So fucking slick. I stroke in and out, painting her pussy, using my fingertip to smooth warm lines around her swollen clit.

I’m rewarded by her crying out.

“Say my name.”

I still my hand. I can hear my blood rush in my ears. Race. Say Race.

Her hands grab at my wrist. “Race.”

I allow myself a brief grin. It’s undiluted satisfaction. She knows – or at least suspects – I’m James Wolfe, but she’s still in my bed.

“Say ‘Race, please.’ I like to hear you beg.” I push another finger into her. Her body quivers. “I like to feel you jump.”

I stretch her with a third finger and slide my thumb over her clit. I’m moving slow. So slow.

“Race, oh God – yes. Please.”

“That’s right, sweetheart.”

Once Upon An Ever After by Angela N. Blount!

Book: Once Upon an Ever After

Author: Angela N. Blount

Set after the events of Blount’s debut memoir, Once Upon A Road Trip, this short story anthology focuses on the unusual courtship of Angeli and Vincent.

When Angeli left Minnesota on a post-high school road trip, all she wanted was to see the East Coast and finally meet some of her online friends. She didn’t expect to end up in a long-distance relationship with a computer-savvy Southern boy. Yet Vincent seems determined to defy the odds. To prove his intentions, he sets off on his own quest to visit Angeli and win her family’s approval. But along the way he’ll have to contend with her offbeat friends, trigger-happy father, and a few questionable run-ins with Northern hospitality.

South meets North this time around, and “normal” isn’t anywhere on the map.

With a thousand miles and radically different upbringings between them, can Angeli and Vincent forge a forever-worthy bond? Or are the roadblocks they face too much for either of them to overcome?

This is an absolutely beautiful and sweet coming of age memoir and I went through every emotion whilst reading it. I laughed, I nearly cried but was quickly picked back up and read the rest of the story with a big grin! Is it too much trouble to be hoping for another installment to this? I can’t get enough of Vince and Angie’s story! Inspiring through and through! A big 5 stars from me on this review! Sky on Amazon

If you haven’t yet read Angela’s amazing awe-inspiring memoir, Once Upon a Road Trip, I’m telling you to go out and get it now! I have never meant that sentence more. Once Upon an Ever after wraps up Angeli’s and Vince’s story perfectly and has you happily sighing, laughing out loud and hoping their story will be a happily ever after. Bonny Bon Bon on Amazon

The Other Sister (Sister Series #1) by Leanne Davis REVIEW!

18599970 (2)

Book: The Other Sister (Sister Series #1)

Author: Leanne Davis

General Travis Bains has two daughters, one who is good, and one who is bad. Everyone knows Lindsey is the good one, and Jessie is the bad one.

Jessie Bains is the other sister, the bad sister, which she has proven more often than not, until the day she gets kidnapped and brutally raped. Will Hendricks, one of her father’s soldiers, rescues her and brings her home, but fears she may be nearly destroyed by what is done to her. The most important thing, however, is that no one can know, per the general’s orders.

Jessie’s life was always far from normal as the daughter of one of the most revered generals in the world. No one sees what the general does to Jessie, except Will. When Will discovers the danger Jessie is living in at her father’s hand, he once again rescues her. Will has survived the horrors of war, but is now engaged in a battle that has become far more personal and far more deadly. Will alone realizes what the general has done and will do to destroy his “other” daughter.

This book is gripping, raw, emotional and powerful.
It is intense, dramatic and heartbreaking.
It is so well written, and flows so perfectly, that I was absorbed into the story from the very first page.

Jessie is so broken. The atrocities done to her in her short life are beyond reprehensible. She has endured far more than anyone should ever have to endure in a lifetime. She thinks she is unlovable, bad and repulsive but she’s strong and smart and surviving, barely.
(All of the horrible and evil things done to Jessie in the book are alluded to or talked about. They are not written in detail, which I was extremely grateful for!)

Will is exactly what Jessie needs – strong, confident, upstanding, honorable, brave, and selfless. Though he initially wishes he never had the displeasure of entering her life he slowly starts noticing what everyone else is so oblivious to. He understands her and her situation and begins to help her.

I really loved how Will and Jessie didn’t have “insta-love” for each other. I enjoyed seeing the buildup of their feelings for each other.

This is a very emotional read. My heart seriously ached for Jessie! It was gut-wrenching at times to continue and I had bouts throughout of ugly crying. But that’s also the sign of a good book; a book written so well that you feel for the characters.

Review notes:
•I suggest reading this book after a nice lighthearted book or romantic comedy. And plan on reading another romantic comedy afterwards.

•I did not want to put spoilers in my review but if you have any questions about triggers or something you don’t want to read about please ask and I will let you know.

Fool Me Once Series by Tara Sivec Review!

Book: Shame on You (Fool Me Once #1)

By: Tara Sivec

War veteran Kennedy O’Brien is in the business of sticking it to the man—or at least any man who tries to cross a woman. After she returned home from Afghanistan and caught her husband in bed with the nanny, Kennedy lost her faith in men and started Fool Me Once Investigations with her two best friends. After all, there’s no better bounty hunter than a woman scorned.

When Kennedy takes a case to slap cuffs on a bail jumper turned dog-napper, she figures it’ll be an easy paycheck. But trouble has a way of finding Kennedy. Enter the last man on the planet she’d willingly choose as a partner: her cheating ex-husband’s best friend, Griffin Crawford.

As gorgeous as he is unwelcome, Griffin has always had a thing for Kennedy, and after keeping quiet about her ex’s cheating, he’ll do anything to earn back her trust. Whether or not she wants to admit it, Kennedy will need help as the case of the Chihuahua thief spirals out of control. Griffin may be just her man—in more ways than one

4 GD STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was hilarious.
I felt like I laughed for much of the book and there was an entire chapter where I literally LOL non-stop.
Tara Sivec, you make me laugh like no other.
Mad props girl!!

In this book we meet the 3 ladies ~ Kennedy, Paige and Lorelei ~ but this book is written from Kennedy’s POV so it is her story.
Her family is comical and they certainly add an immense amount of depth, and humor, to this book.

This is a quick, short read but also chockful of sexual tension, hilarious shenanigans, feisty characters and quirky situations. I would have liked a little more but overall it was a fantastic book and I very much look forward to starting Shame on Me

Book: Shame on Me (Fool me Once #2)

By: Tara Sivec

Ex-model Paige McCarty is fed up with being just a pretty face. After her ex-husband’s gambling problem left her royally screwed and tragically shoeless, she started Fool Me Once Investigations with her best friends, Lorelei and Kennedy, to prevent other women from being similarly played and dismayed.

The job: act as bait for a cheating husband. The target: Matt Russo. The case should be as easy as getting a man’s attention—and Paige has never had trouble with that. The problem is Matt—in all his nerdy-hot glory—turns out to be not such a scumbag after all.

And when the case hits closer to home than Paige could ever have imagined—landing her in a face-off with the mob—she wonders if taking the job just to prove that she has a brain maybe wasn’t her best idea.

This second outing for the Fool Me Once team follows in the same fun, feisty footsteps as bestselling author Tara Sivec’s Shame on You

4.5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Will you stop calling it ‘stalking’? That’s such a harsh term. I prefer ‘anonymous following’.”

Even better than the first book, Shame on You!

This was still a short, sweet, romantic comedy but Tara Sivecmanaged to make some complex characters and situations in these few pages. I absolutely love Paige, what a refreshing and beautiful character. And the dynamic between her and Matt was just perfect. Paige’s ex, her mother and her mothers friends were all a hoot! The dynamic between Paige and her mom is an added bonus to this story and man do I just love her mom.

“Shame on me for thinking I was going to get out of this with my heart intact.”

Book: Shame on Him (Fool me Once #3)

By: Tara Sivec

For Lorelei Warner, being perfect isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be. She did what her straitlaced parents wanted: became a lawyer, married her college boyfriend. But since her husband ran off with another man and her career became a nonstop bore-fest, Lorelei has turned to her best friends and Fool Me Once Investigations to find fulfillment and adventure.

When a routine subpoena-delivery turns up a dead body, Lorelei knows that solving the murder is exactly what she needs to boost her confidence…until private investigator Dallas Osborne walks in and takes over the case. Dallas has always rubbed Lorelei the wrong way. It’s aggravating enough that he’s a pompous ass, but he’s also entirely too good-looking.

If she wants to catch the killer, Lorelei will need to loosen up and defy her parents—not to mention the law. And she’ll need to partner with Dallas, working closer (much closer) to the sexy investigator than she ever expected.

Join the feisty Fool Me Once ladies for another fun-loving romp from bestselling author Tara Sivec.

4 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The third and final book in the Fool Me Once series did not disappoint!
It was not quite as funny as the first 2 books,
Shame on You
Shame on Me
but it was a great read nonetheless. It focuses more on the suspenseful plot and I really enjoyed that.
The banter between Lorelei and Dallas was comical and still sweet. Their interactions were just the right amount of frustrating, funny and sexual. The twists and turns and ‘who-done-it?’ aspect kept me guessing and loving it.

I’m going to miss these feisty and funny girls!

Tyler Morgan grew up a star athlete and scholar, but a tragedy he hasn’t dealt with has him regrouping in his home town of South Lake Tahoe. The last person he expects to see is Mira, the girl he lost his virginity to in high school, and the only woman who ever took a piece of his heart. And if he has to push that process along by snooping around and figuring out what she’s hiding, he’ll do that too. They’re expecting The Duet

Great, fun romantic read…R.S Grey did a fantastic job with this book. It was funny, romantic, frustrating, romantic….I love these types of books.

Brooklyn is a riot. SHe is mega successful, but yet she is a big klutz..Poor girl seems she can not catch a break. I think it was enduring watching her cute mistakes. Grey made her character so likable..

Now, Jason..Yes you are a hot rock star, but at first I wanted to throw my kindle at you..You really frustrated me..You were the guy I hated.. the judgmental, snotty, sex with no strings attached arrogant a-hole…You were scum in my eyes for a while… But then… it all changed in just a matter of chapters… and SWOON…I heart Jason forever!!

This book was a fun, sexy, at sometime frustrating read , just because I loved Brooklyn so much and Jason was ticking me off But once again, I loved how the only drama between these two, was more internal with issues they had to get over, and not due to cheating, lying or a major love triangle..

The only reason it lost one star is because I wanted to see more of them.. So if in Cam and Grayson’s book if I see more of them and they show more of their life.. the stars may go up 🙂 lol… But overall very enjoyable book. Great HEA!!!!!!!!

Book 1: Fixed on You

Stalking and restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Wither’s past. With her MBA newly in hand, she has her future figured out—move up at the nightclub she works at and stay away from any guy who might trigger her obsessive love disorder. A perfect plan.

But what Alayna didn’t figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He’s smart, rich, and gorgeous—the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she wants to keep her past tendencies in check. Except, Hudson’s fixed his sights on her. He wants her in his bed and makes no secret of it.

Avoiding him isn’t an option after he offers a business proposition she can’t turn down and she’s drawn further into his universe, unable to resist his gravitational pull. When she learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she’s fallen for the worst man she could possibly get involved with. Or maybe their less than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find the love their lives have been missing

I always love a story where two broken and hurting people find each other and heal each other.

Alayna and Hudson are both damaged and fragile, fighting to just be better but not seeing it within themselves. Together they try to build a relationship that both makes them better individually, and as a couple.

They face many obstacles, but they still manage to see the good in each other. Hudson and Alayna are both wonderful and unique characters. Their love for each other really shines through even if they don’t realize that that’s what it is.

I can’t believe I waited so long to start this series.

Book #2 Found in You

By: Laurelin Paige

Alayna Withers has only had one kind of relationship: the kind that makes her obsessive and stalker-crazy. Now that Hudson Pierce has let her into his heart, she’s determined to break down the remaining walls between them so they can build a foundation that’s based on more than just amazing sex. Except Hudson’s not the only one with secrets.

With their pasts pulling them into a web of unfounded mistrust, Alayna turns to the one person who knows Hudson the best—Celia, the woman he almost married. Hoping for insight from someone who understands all sides of the story, Alayna forms a bond with Celia that goes too far—revealing things about Hudson that could end their love for good.

This is the first relationship where Alayna hasn’t spiraled out of control. And she might lose Hudson anyway…

4 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow, it was touch and go there in the middle but the end really pulled it through.

Was it worth the frustration – YES!

Alayna and Hudson’s relationship became stronger and more serious while they were both put to the test and many secrets were kept and revealed. If it’s possible I came to love Hudson even more. I truly loved Alayna in the first book but her stupidity in this one made me doubt her and want to pull my hair out at times but she finally pulled her head out of her ass and she came through.

Can’t wait to read the final book.

Book #3 Forever with You

By Laurelin Paige

Alayna Withers relationship with Hudson Pierce has tested both her and his ability to trust. They decide that the only way they can move forward together is with open doors and transparency. It won’t be easy for the scarred lovers, but they’re committed to each other more now than ever. Alayna, in particular, has grown through their trials, and has emerged more confident and faithful to the man she loves.

But while the pair is focused on the future, their past shows up again to threaten their fragile bond. Promises that were made are broken, and Alayna learns that Hudson still has very potent secrets—secrets that will tear them both apart. As much as she feels for him, her ability to forgive and forget is tested beyond her limits.

Even though she found the only man who could fix her, a forever with Hudson seems more and more out of reach

4 CRAZY STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the third book in the FIXED TRILOGY. I really enjoyed
BOOK 1 Fixed on You
My review:…
and BOOK 2 Found in You
My review:…
They we’re gripping, emotional and fasted paced. Sometimes I was annoyed, sometimes I was anxious, sometimes I wanted to tear my hair out, but I was always curious and wanted more.Found in You answered a lot of questions but then it had me asking even more. And I really loved Hudson by the end of the second book.

Forever with You starts right where Found in You leaves off. And let me tell you it did not disappoint.
Alayna and Hudson are trying to rebuild their relationship from the aftermath of all the lies and drama. Watching them together is great. Seeing how they grow and mature and still are good for each other was gratifying. Lots of outside forces are at play and trust is a big issue again.
That one big secret was always hanging between them.
Hudson became extremely frustrating and I started questioning everything regarding him. But of course true love conquers all!

Overall this series was the perfect amount of drama, romance, passion and frustration.
The characters were real and well developed. The storyline was interesting with a lot of suspense. It’s always beautiful when two damaged people find each other, can learn to love each other and can heal each other.

Book #4 Hudson

By: Laurelin Paige

“I can easily divide my life into two parts—before her and after.”

Hudson Pierce has led a life few others could even imagine. With money and power at his fingertips, he’s wanted for almost nothing. He’s never experienced love, however, and he’s seen few examples of it in his dysfunctional family. The ridiculous notion of romance has always intrigued him. He’s studied it, controlled it, manipulated it, and has yet to understand it.

Until he meets Alayna Withers.

Now, the games he’s played in his quest for comprehension can finally come to an end. Or are they just beginning?

Told from his point of view, Hudson fills the holes in his love story with Alayna Withers. His past and relationship with his long-time friend Celia is further revealed and light is shed on his actions during his courtship with Alayna.

3.5-4 “BEFORE” AND “AFTER” STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reviewer note:
I was a late comer to The Fixed Trilogy. I started the after all 4 books had been published so I read them in succession. In many ways I like reading series books that way. Then I don’t have to wait months for the next book and I can just devour the series. However, sometimes reading a book like Hudson, where it is partly a re-telling of another book (series in this case) from a different perspective, with added material, is best not read immediately after. (I hope that makes sense.) I really should know better by now. However, I did it anyway and I think it’s partly the reason for the 3.5-4 stars instead of the solid 4 stars the rest of the series got.
My suggestion is that if you enjoyed The Fixed Trilogy and want to read Hudson’s perspective then you should wait some time after finishing. I think I would have enjoyed it far more, though I still enjoyed it a great deal.

This book was not only eye opening in terms of understanding Hudson and getting inside his head but answered some lingering questions I still had after I finished the trilogy – like why Hudson believed Celia when she told him about Alayna stalking her. I can say after reading this that I’m partially offended by Hudson but I also love him all the more!

“I can easily divide my life into two parts—before her and after.”

Some chapters were from “before” he met Alayna and helped to explain the relationship between him and Celia better. Why he does what he does and how things look and feel for him. It was helpful to see how he felt about Celia and the “experiments” he conducted. It also gives a great deal of perspective on Celia and Hudson’s relationship with his family. Though some things were alluded to in the trilogy these chapters were all in depth and elaborate.

The “after” he mets Alayna is in chronological order, as it is in the trilogy. This part was very interesting because I really was able to understand how much Hudson truly loved Alayna and I was finding myself saying “So that’s what he was thinking!”. I realized there were times when I thought Hudson was being an ass and really he was just as confused as Alayna was but hid it better. There were also some additional scenes that didn’t include Alayna so it wasn’t only a re-telling.

This was just as well written and just as streamy. It was the perfect touch to the trilogy.
